About

Vanessa SkoczVanessa Skocz is a recent graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is currently trying to find her way in the world.  After graduating with an Audiology degree Vanessa plans to pursue a career in photography, her true passion.

Her love of photography began when senior year in high school.  She took a photography class where she learned to develop prints and film and grew an appreciation for the smell of developing chemicals.  She continued to own her photography skills once she applied for a photographer position at The Daily Nebraskan, an independent student run newspaper at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  It was here she grew from a shy staff photographer to the photo editor, and where she learned all the ins and outs of photojournalism.  Because of her experience at The Daily Nebraskan, Vanessa traveled to Kosovo and South Africa to participate in two in-depth reporting projects with the journalism college.  Honored to be one of few non-journalism majors to partake in such a project, she didn’t disappoint her professors with her photo stories.

At the moment Vanessa is working on some freelance assignments.  Be on the look out for more updates on Vanessa’s life in her blog.
